First hour
- Photograph everything before it moves.
- Downed lines: utility first, touch nothing.
- Tree on the house: tree crew first, hauling second.
What the counties will pick up
After a declared storm Hinds, Madison and Rankin counties run debris pickups for vegetation stacked at the curb, on their own schedules, which can take weeks. Jackson's own collection is the least predictable of the metro's. Fences, roofing, shed pieces and mixed piles are usually excluded.
What a crew does
Cuts, loads and hauls what the pickup will not take, the same week. We say on the quote which part of your pile the county would take for free.
